Bill Gates-funded inattentive to groom "experts and advocates" from countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to "change public opinion and shift public policy" .

The Aspen Institute's New Voices Fellowship is an initiative to groom credible-looking but entirely dependent "experts" from the Global South.

The "experts", mostly dabbling in the "health" sector, designated as front persons for the Bill Gates-led takeover of vital sectors: "These are the voices we should be listening for when we listen to the story of global development – because these are the voices that show the way forward on humanity’s greatest challenges, including infectious disease, food security, good governance and climate change."[1]

Shikoh Gitau (NVF ’15), Thumbi Mwangi (NVF ’16) and Loice Ombaji (NVF ’21) met with Bill Gates in October 2023 "to demonstrate how their innovative technology, CEMA, can track health and epidemiological trends to prevent future disease outbreaks."[2]

Own Words

“New Voices is the catalyst that propels Fellows into positions of power and places of recognition. Following the modest yearlong investment, Fellows go on to scale their organizations and ideas, often reaching millions of people through governmental policy and direct service care innovations.”

About the New Voices Fellowship

The Fellowship offers development experts from Africa, Asia, and Latin America a year-long program of media support, advocacy lessons, training, and writing under the guidance of experienced mentors and trainers. On average, Fellows devote 10% of their working time towards the Fellowship over the course of the year. The program helps Fellows sharpen their messages, elevate their stories, focus their media targets, and communicate their insights across a variety of media platforms – illuminating crucial perspectives for a broad worldwide audience in order to champion policy change.

Fellows come from a variety of disciplines, ranging from public health to education to poverty alleviation, agriculture, and community activism. All Fellows are experts in their field with a deep understanding of broad development challenges and a passion for communicating their views.”
Aspen Institute/New Voices Fellowship (2022)  [4]

“The New Voices Fellowship at the Aspen Institute uses communications, advocacy, and storytelling training to equip experts and advocates from countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America with skills to change public opinion and shift public policy.”
 (2023)  [5]

Fellows have written more than 2,000 OpEds with New Voices program support since the beginning of the program in 2013. OpEds are placed in local outlets, national outlets, regional outlets and global outlets depending on the intended audience.[6]

Financing

The New Voices Fellowship is financed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Open Society Foundations.[7]

EventDescription
Bill & Melinda Gates FoundationVery influential and rich foundation established to take leadership of global health.
Open Society FoundationsA NGO operating in more countries than McDonald's. It has the tendency to support politicians (at times through astroturfing) and activists that get branded as "extreme left" as its founder is billionaire and bane of the pound George Soros. This polarizing perspective causes the abnormal influence of the OSF to go somewhat unanswered.
Many thanks to our Patrons who cover ~2/3 of our hosting bill. Please join them if you can.
