David Albright is the founder of the non-governmental Institute for Science and International Security (IS&IS), a contributing editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a member of the Openness Advisory Panel (part of the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board) and author of several books on proliferation of atomic weapons.

From 1992 to 1997, David Albright was associated with the International Atomic Energy Agency's Action Team. In June 1996, he was invited to be the first non-governmental inspector of Iraq's nuclear program and questioned Iraqi officials about that country's uranium enrichment program.
