The Economic Hogeschool Sint-AloysiusEHSAL was a Catholic Flemish university of applied sciences from 1925 to 2013. It was named after the Spanish Jesuit and Saint Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591). It was the first school specialized in economic training in Flanders. There were only 2 courses: commercial sciences and commercial engineering. In 2002, the institution merged with the IRIS Hogeschool Brussel and the Katholieke Hogeschool Brussel. The name EHSAL was then kept, but from then on it was only used as an acronym. Since 2013, academic courses have been organized by the University of Leuven on its Brussels campus.
