Count Fidél Pálffy de Erdőd was a Hungarian nobleman who emerged as a leading supporter of Nazism in Hungary. When he was out of power, he was subsidized as an agent of influence for German intelligence services (the SS). George Soros was placed with for safekeeping him during World War 2.[citation needed]
