Jeremy Newmark is the former Labour Party candidate for Finchley and Golders Green at the UK/2017 General Election on 8 June 2017. He came close to winning. [1]

Jeremy Newmark is Chair of the Jewish Labour Movement; former CEO of the Jewish Leadership Council and was spokesman for the former UK Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.[2]

Livingstone expulsion

Jeremy Newmark was at the forefront of the campaign within the Labour Party calling for the expulsion of former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone after his comments suggesting Adolf Hitler once supported Zionism.[4]

Unpaid taxi fares

In a letter seen by the Jewish Chronicle, dated February 2016, Jeremy Newmark agreed he owed £3,000, and promised to pay the debt in instalments. He claimed the delay had been due to health problems he had suffered.

However, until this week, the taxi driver, Mr Yatziv, had received no payment.
