Madhav Das Nalapat (also M.D. Nalapat) is an academic and columnist from India.

Background

He is the son of K. Madhava Das and the late English writer Kamala Das. Nalapat is the youngest of three brothers and married to Princess Lakshmi Bayi of the royal house of Travancore. He studied economics at the University of Mumbai.

Career

He is the director of the publishing house The Sunday Guardian and Itv network (India), vice-president of the advanced research group of Manipal University and director of the geopolitics department of the same university. He has been the coordinating editor of the Times of India newspaper and editor of the Mathrubhumi newspaper. Nalapat writes regularly on security and international political affairs in the Sunday Guardian and many other publications such as the Pakistan Observer.[1][2]
