COVID-19

On February 26, 2020, he compared COVID-19 with a “strong flu” saying that markets were overreacting.[1]

On 16 April 2020, after joining Markus Söder's Bavarian COVID-19 Economic Advisory Council, he "warned of “massive” industry losses caused by the spreading coronavirus pandemic which he said has already had a “meteorite impact” on the global insurance sector."[2]
