Head of the Global Product for BlackRock in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) & APAC (Asia-Pacific)

Poppy Allonby is head of the Global Product for BlackRock in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) & APAC (Asia-Pacific). As such she is responsible for driving product strategy, pricing, product development & structuring and ongoing oversight of Blackrock's investment products across all asset classes. Blackrock is by far the biggest capital manager in the world, with several thousand billion dollars under management.

In 2016, she selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. [1]

Career

Allonby has a degree in Physics from Imperial College, London.

Previously, Allonby was a portfolio manager and member of BlackRock's Natural Resources Team responsible for approx. $4 billion in global Energy investment funds. She manages investments in both the oil & gas sector and in businesses that are facilitating and benefiting from the transition to a lower carbon economy (for example: clean tech, renewable power, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility). Allonby has worked for Blackrock since 2000, including her years at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. [2]

She sits on the Board and Assets Committee for the Church Commissioners, one of the world's largest charitable endowments and a global leader in responsible investments. She serves as a Commissioner on the Energy Transitions Commission.
