US exceptionalism suggests that the US is a unique nation state, and can excuse itself from the general principles of cause and effect, international law etc. that apply to other nation states.

It is a disgrace, a disgrace for those who do this and for those who, like slaves, silently and meekly swallow this arrogant behaviour.
