Anglo American plc is a British listed multinational mining company. It is the world's largest producer of platinum, with around 40% of world output, as well as being a major producer of diamonds, copper, nickel, iron ore and steelmaking coal. The company has operations in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.[1]
Anglo American has a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. The company has a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Anglo American was ranked as the 274th -largest public company in the world.[2]
Fourteen years after taking control of De Beers in 2011, Anglo American announced plans to sell off the company.[3] In February 2025, Duncan Wanblad CEO of Anglo American said the sale could be finalised by the year's end.[4]
