Why?

What is the purpose of this category?

Similar but opposite to the 'Doc' category. I needed a way to include pdf and other document files in the front page 'Latest Files' box without it including images too. The only way to do it using the 'News' extension was by means of a category. ie new items in the 'files' namespace are included on the front page only if they have the category 'Doc'. The 'image(s) categories are not used this way but I set them up at the same time as part of that exercise and have been using the 'images' category' to differentiate images from files ever since. I guess they should be merged into a single category and I'm relaxed about whether its 'images' or 'image'. --Peter P 15:26, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
