The Chinese deep state saw a break in 1949 after the communist victory in the civil war, when the old deep state was forced to move lock, stock and barrel to Taiwan.[1] The new Communist state soon saw a new deep state emerge, centered around the state run enterprises, senior party cadre and their families, and the military.

The two strands of deep state activities started to fuse together again from the 1970s onward, and also with the supranational deep state.

Of huge significance for deep state activities is the 100 million+ overseas Chinese community, especially in South-East Asia, but also further afield, including many billionaires, and the criminal syndicates known as Triads.[2]

19th century

The Opium Wars created a Chinese comprador class actively involved in the international drug trade.[3]

Before 1945

In the decades after the 1912 revolution, the government was more and more taken captured by drug gangs. President Chiang Kai-shek shared the proceeds from the Green Gangs drug trade,[4] led by Ying Guixin, during the 1930s in Shanghai.

The Soong family (T. V. Soong, his sister married to Chiang Kai-shek), looted the treasury, including the enormous lend-lease aid from the United States during World War 2[5].

The Japanese deep state making a huge amount of money in the Chinese drug trade, especially in the 1930s.[6]

After 1949

The Chinese deep state saw a huge change after the communists under Mao Zedong won the civil war in 1949. While often brutally cleaning up the old drug/prostitution based deep state, the revolution created the basis for a new deep state, centered around the managers of the enormous state-run industrial conglomerates, senior party cadre and their offspring, and the military.[7]

By the 1970s, mainland China was opening to the world, including Hong Kong and the nominally Portuguese mafia-rung enclave of Macao. By the 1970s, the Chinese military was active in the international black market armaments trade. The contacts between organized crime and the Chinese military became stronger. This was partially revealed in the Iran Contra affair.[8]

Contacts with the supranational deep state (including through Henry Kissinger) were established after 1973. The supranational deep state have purposefully encouraged technology transfers to China, where the Israeli government and Israeli defence contractors often have acted as facilitators for the transfer of the most sensitive Western defence and surveillance technology to China.[9]

The Clinton network did dealings with Chinese deep state operatives.[10]

The Chinese city of Wuhan is the world center for the trade in raw materials for synthetic drugs.[11]

By the 1990s, a class of billionaires had developed, often with family ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Jack Ma of Alibaba is active in the World Economic Forum.

Red Nobility

The "Red Nobility" is a group of people who have an exceptional status in Chinese society.[12] They are children, grandchildren, in-laws and relatives of high-ranking senior and former CCP leaders ("The Eight Immortals").[13] They are argued to be the ones who wield absolute political power. The so-called princelings are behind every sector of Chinese economy: energy, finance, real estate, technology, healthcare, stock exchange, and manufacturing.[14] Bloomberg was forced to end their reporting [15][16][17] under pressure from the Chinese government in 2012.[18]

Black legend

Full article: China/Black legend

While actual Chinese deep state activities often go unnoticed, during the Cold War a black legend was nurtured by the CIA against the Chinese Communist Party government.

The standard tactic is number inflation, where supposedly scientific analysis by "independent experts" abroad revealed enormous number of casualties, including a 1959-61 famine which according to these calculations killed 60 million people. The Tiananmen Square massacre is another of event where the Western official narrative is misleading.

In 1959 the Chinese government integrated Tibet into China and has suppressed all independence activists since then. The province of Xinjiang has seen significant unrest from independence activists. Both situations have been instrumentalized by the CIA over the decades.

Covid and Great Reset

Chinese health bureaucrat George Gao participated in Event 201.

China led the way during Covid, being the first country to introduce lockdowns, and a hellish regime of mandatory "testing", vaccine passports, isolation, and city-wide indefinite lockdowns. As of 2022, it has not introduced mandatory jabs.
