David Rockefeller was an American banker who served as chairman and chief executive of Chase Manhattan Corporation. He was the longest lived child of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, and the longest surviving grandchild of John D. Rockefeller and Laura Spelman Rockefeller.
He was, amongst many other things, Chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank.
David Rockefeller founded the Trilateral Commission. In his autobiography, Rockefeller states that he first learned of Le Cercle in October 1967 when he was invited to join by Carlo Pesenti. He states further that "My Chase associates, who feared my membership could be construed as “consorting with reactionaries,” eventually prevailed upon me to withdraw."
David Rockefeller was invited to the first Bilderberg conference in 1954, and was sometimes referred to as a "life member". He was a longtime steering committee member, in 2001 was chairman of the Bilderberg Advisory Committee and attended almost all conferences up to 2011.
