A 9-11 connected multimillionaire
September 11, 2001
In 1975, Joseph Kasputys was Assistant Secretary of Commerce and helped found the U.S. Department of Energy. Interestingly, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and others were also in the same administration.
Kasputys has demonstrated a spooky knack for starting the right business at the right time, and has had success in landing defense contracts. He lead the Primark Corporation from 1987 to 2000. In March 2001 he formed the private company Global Insight, becoming its president and CEO. On September 18, 2008, IHS Inc. agreed to purchase Global Insight for $200 million.
