German Bilderberger businessman, WEF AGM habit, CEO of BASF since 2018. Predicted EU ban on Russian gas imports would destroy the German economy.

Martin Brudermüller is a German businessman, and the Chairman of the Big Chemical corporation BASF since 2018.

He attended the 2023 Bilderberg meeting. These meetings allow for debate within a narrow window of permitted opinion. After the Russian-Ukrainian war started for full in 2022, Brudermüller strongly opposed a proposed EU ban on Russian gas imports. Brudermüller said it would destroy the German economy.[1] His opinion might be seen as being within this window, although decidedly a minority view among the generally hardline participants.

Early life

Brudermüller was born in Stuttgart in 1961]. He earned a bachelor's degree and a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1985 and 1987 respectively.[2] He did postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, US.[2]

Career

Brudermüller joined BASF in 1988, and has stayed with the company his entire career. Since 2006 he is member of the Board of Executive Directors/ In 2011, Brudermüller became Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE and since 2015 also Chief Technology Officer. In 2018 he became chairman of the board of executive directors and chief technology officer (CTO)[2].
