Seoul mayors have traditionally gone on to hold higher office. Yun Bo-seon and Lee Myung-bak both went on to become President of South Korea.
Sudden death
Park Won-soon, mayor of Seoul, was found dead on 10 July 2020, one or two days after a former secretary filed a criminal complaint with police alleging he had sexually harassed her.[1] Commercially-controlled media termed it an "apparent suicide".[2]
