An international union of almost 2 million members.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is one of America’s largest, most controversial, and most politically involved labor unions. The SEIU represents building services employees, nurses, other healthcare workers, and public employees.

SEIU was involved in coordinating protests against the IPO of KKR in 2008.[1] SEIU pensions reportedly composed over 30% of KKR's 2006 Fund [2]

They supported Barack Obama in his presidential campaign during the 2008 elections, buying an estimated $3.2 million in TV ads in the first half of 2008. [3]

Bilderberg/2017 attendee Andrew Stern was the CEO until 2010.[4] SEIU laid off 33% of their field organizers in 2019.[5] They reported this was due to budget cuts by the Trump administration. [6]
