Satanism are ideological and philosophical beliefs based on Satan and/or supernatural evil. Some adherents may argue that Satan is: "a symbol of pride and individualism". By the 2020s it was going more mainstream in the US.

Official narrative

According to the Official Narrative, Marina Abramović is only an artist. Nothing occult here.

Satanist groups and symbols are mostly ignored in the more "serious" parts of Commercially-controlled media. Ritual abuse does not happen, or was something that was much overplayed in the "satanic panic" of the 80s. All occult symbolism either is coincidence or mere naughty playfulness. While some open groups do exist, secret societies of powerful people is a third rail subject

Problems with official narrative

A variant of the one eye symbol where using the hand would be too conspicuous is presenting with a blackened eye.

Leaving aside the metaphysical (Wikispooks is a wiki about deep state activities not supernatural concepts!), Alistair Crowley's maxim Do what do whilt and the elevation of evil as something desirable, would be attractive for powerful people.

Concerns

Greenbaum Speech

In his Greenbaum Speech / or lecture, Corydon Hammond said about psychiatrist that were brought to the United States after the second world war: "They started doing mind-control research for Military Intelligence in military hospitals in the United States. The people that came, the Nazi doctors, were Satanists". Also noting:“Certainly what some patients have said is all of this spook stuff, horror stuff, possession and everything else that’s been popularized in the last twenty years in Hollywood is in order to soften up the public so that when a Satanic world order takes over, everyone will have been desensitized to so many of these things,”

Structure

The 1989 documentary: Devil Worship, The Rise of Satanism, notes four types (types in a hierarchy) of satanism:

1. Dabbler - people with some curiosity in the occult (often teenagers in the 80's and 90's in the US)
2. Religious - Anton LaVey / Church of Satan
3. Non-traditional - cults (like that of Charles Manson)
4. Generational - generational cults that practice human sacrifice and ritual abuse

Europe

Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican's chief exorcist, said in 2008 that satanic cults are in fashion in Rome/Italy; the Christian Broadcasting Network reported at the time that there are about 800 satanic cults, with more than ~600,000 followers in Italy.

Occultism

Many aspects of satanism are closely linked with occultism. Some occult practices involve the belief that bodies of the dead or parts thereof offer special powers.
