Head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and responsible for Sweden's relations with foreign countries as well as with intergovernmental and other international organizations.

The Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs is the head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the head of authority of the foreign representation. In addition, the minister is responsible for Sweden's relations with foreign countries as well as with intergovernmental and other international organizations.

The minister for foreign affairs is not only the head of the ministry, but is also the head of the entire foreign service, and this is where Swedish diplomats and ambassadors abroad report. As head of government, the minister for foreign affairs is not subject to the general ban on ministerial rule, and is the only one of the Swedish ministers to hold this position.[1]
