Mark Lewis, English media lawyer, husband of Caroline Feraday and son-in-law of Alan Feraday

Mark Lewis is an English media lawyer. He is married to TV and radio broacaster, Caroline Feraday, and is the son-in-law of discredited 'expert' forensic witness Alan Feraday.

According to the London Evening Standard of 22 November 2011:

In the phone-hacking inquiry, Mark Lewis took the Dowlers on a no-win, no-fee basis and his phone hasn't stopped ringing since with requests from victims of phone-hacking to represent him, media appearances, committee appearances. In the final twist, the police, whom he's still suing, have also just announced there are at least 5,795 potential hacking victims, pretty close to the figure of 6,000 he was told in 2008.
Tomorrow he will give evidence at the Leveson Inquiry himself, and you can be sure the underdog will be barking very loudly:
"You've got News Corp, you've got News International, you've got News Group Newspapers, News of the World, you've got Farrer & Co, you've got Linklaters, you've got Olswang's, you've got Clifford Chance, you've got so many of the big law firms on this and then on the other side you've got me," Lewis says. "I haven't even got a f**king secretary, I've got one hand and, you know, if I had two hands I'd tie one behind my back because they need a head start."[1]

Private Eye rumbles "Haselnut" and The Ecologist

Twitter

On 4 February 2014, Caroline Feraday tweeted to former British diplomat, Patrick Haseldine:

Have you nominated yourself for Twat of the Year (TOTY) too? @BerntCarlsson[2]

Mark Lewis, having favorited his wife's tweet and retweeted it to his 3,481 Twitter followers, added his own tweet:

Lockerbie: Private Eye rumbles "Haselnut" and The Ecologist:
Why tweet as @BerntCarlsson when #Haselnut would be apt?[3]

In response to Mr and Mrs Lewis, Patrick Haseldine tweeted:

"#TwatOfTheYear" is preferable to "#OdiousBombExpert" awarded to your dad: #AlanFeraday[4]
@MarkLewisLawyer Nice nickname @BerntCarlsson remains the highest profile #Lockerbie victim failed by #AlanFeraday[5]

Patrick Haseldine, former diplomat, often referred to as "Emeritus Professor of Lockerbie Studies"

On 22 February 2014, Mark Lewis e-mailed legal advice to his wife Caroline Feraday (copying - perhaps unintentionally - to Patrick Haseldine) as follows:

Clearly Patrick Haseldine is a fruit loop.
Possibly can sue but that gives him the opportunity to use it a show trial: therefore gives the oxygen of publicity.
Whether could sue for harassment is a different matter. Trouble is that he would argue that means it's true.
Inclination is not to bother but on plus side:
1. Some of his theories are so ludicrous that he'd struggle;
2. Such as bomb next to Bernt Carlsson's suitcase;
3. Self-styled Professor (Emeritus Professor of Lockerbie Studies);
4. Nominated for Paul Foot Award at Private Eye.
Defending himself might be very expensive but he could represent himself which is a nightmare as trial takes 3x longer.
Ultimately your dad, Alan, has to decide. I think Daniel would be more objective than I am.
Mark.
