On 18 January 2014 the Daily Mail reported his wife had been paid £500 in cash not to mention her husband's allegation, and had been warned by an SAS officed that if she gave evidence that undermined her former husband’s witness testimony at Nightingale’s court martial "she would end up dead like Lee Rigby".[3]
