James and JoAnne Moriarty

James and JoAnne Moriarty are a United States married and business couple who lived through the US-backed Regime Change operation in Libya in 2011. They were invited to open a business to manufacture enzymes useful in the petroleum industry, and they operated their business from 2007 to 2011. Unique among Americans in Libya, the Moriartys gained the confidence of the Libyan tribes.

During the so-called Libyan Revolution, they were captured by extremists. They also captured extensive video of atrocities that took place during the overthrow of Quaddafi. Assisted by the Tribes, they made an escape. In 2012, they were appointed the official spokesperson for the Tribes of Libya.

Upon their return to the United States, the Moriartys became activists to inform the American public about the Libyan war and the extent to which the mainstream media misrepresented the conflict. They were highly engaged in a citizen's fact-finding commission, and produced a DVD about their experience.
