Spook alleged to have envisaged Operation Gladio.

Harry Sporborg was deputy head of the Special Operations Executive under Colin Gubbins during World War Two.[1]

Career

He was a partner in Slaughter and May from 1935-1946. He was reportedly "decorated by four governments for his war time services".[2]

Harry Sporborg was a lawyer in London who became vice-chief of SOE during World War II, working alongside Sir Charles Hambro. It has been suggested that he envisaged the "stay-behind" units which were to be realised as Operation Gladio.[3]

Later activities

Later he was a long-serving director of Hambros Bank.[4]
