Julian Bray is an author, journalist and presenter who started with the BBC, moving to commercial radio and television networks in the UK and Europe. He is an expert on aviation safety and airline operations, frequently lecturing, writing and advising international corporations.[1]

On 4 November 2015, the Daily Mirror reported that Julian Bray's “Lockerbie theory” is now thought to be the most likely explanation for the Metrojet disaster. Bray believes a bomb was hidden in luggage, the same way terrorists brought down Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland in 1988. He said:

“I think it was an explosive device on board, something that was loaded into the luggage. If it was an incendiary device and it went off, it might have burst through part of the computer system. That could account for erratic movements in the air before Metrojet 9268 finally crashed.”[2]

Consultant

As CEO of a public affairs corporation, Leadenhall Associates, Julian Bray was a consultant to international corporations, airlines, and Governments. He was for several years an international adviser to Romano Prodi, the former Italian Premier and former European Commission president, and was a consultant to the Alitalia group, a part of IRI, the Italian State Holding Company. He edited the international edition of the airlines safety and operations service manual, and handled air major incidents and victim support. He has advised several Governments on rescue and recovery strategies, and acted as an independent facilitator between organisations and the world media. He is well known as a expert witness and media commentator.[3]

Broadcaster

Bray's own COOBE ISDN broadcast studio is linked into the World's broadcasters who can direct dial in via COOBE Integrated Services for Digital Network (ISDN) 0044(0)1733 345020 for broadcast studio quality live contributions.

Illusionist

Bray produced and directed TV series, which reawakened an interest in stage magic and illusions. Under the stage name of "Ian Ray", he became a full member of the magician Magic Circle society, and is a performing member of Equity, the Actors' Union. He became a Life Member of the National Union of Journalists in January 2012, having completed 40 years as a member.
