Publication date is not showing in the tables on pages using this template (eg Chris Busby, David Guyatt). I started to look for why - probably a good thing so that I get a better feel for the dependencies of these related templates, but maybe best if Robin fixes it --Peter P (talk) 19:39, 20 January 2014 (GMT)

:I've not got to the bottom of why it wasn't working as expected, but I tweaked it so I didn't have to. Yes, it would be good if at some point you got to grips with the framework I've built - 2 heads are wiser than one! I've noticed a limitation of SMW tables (at least, as I understood them... I hope to be proved wrong, either now or in subsequent versions), that they can only display a simple, unprocessed, property value in a table. So to do more creative stuff (i.e. display "A - B"), we pre-process property information and then store the result in a property value. These I called "display properties" and they're currently very simple (See :Category:Property Templates). Robin (talk) 04:08, 21 January 2014 (GMT)

I've not got to the bottom of why it wasn't working as expected, but I tweaked it so I didn't have to. These I called "display properties" and they're currently very simple (See Category:Property Templates). Robin (talk) 04:08, 21 January 2014 (GMT)
