Robin, I think your work on converting to ISO dates is unnecessary. Wikipedia does not use Semantic Mediawiki and so has a serious issue over date formats generally. That issue goes away with SMW use which does all the internal conversion work for you.

Have a look at the [http://www.wikispooks.org/w/index.php?title=Date_Tests |source of this test page on the Sandbox wiki] then, when viewing the page normally, click the 'Browse properties' option on the sidebar. You will see that all the dates on the page are recognised as proper ISO formatted dates for search etc purposes. BTW I've posted this here so that you will be sure to see it quickly - delete it when done --[[User:Peter|Peter P]] ([[User talk:Peter|talk]]) 07:36, 11 November 2013 (GMT)

Importing Templates

Is this a mediawiki setting? There was an 'import' feature on this wiki, but it didn't like the templates I exported from Wikipedia (Template:Documentation). I have done this before from Wikipedia and it is definitely the fastest and most reliable way to clone wikipedia structure. So, worth gettting right. My best guess as to what is going wrong is version incompatibility, but I am a bit in the dark as to why the import didn't work. Ideas welcome.
