Just as the lack of distinction between events and timeline events, I'm going to suggest that mainpage images are just images and mainpage videos are just videos. So I suggest that they should be brought under the same semantic template - i.e. [[Template:Document]] - if not straight away then eventually. In the mean time, adding semantic data to them (|authors, |subjects etc.) would be good preparation for this simplification. :I certainly agree the principle but the devil as always is in the detail. The problem - for me anyway when wanting to focus on content - is that [[Form:Document]] is already complex. The current collection of templates and forms for the main page videos and pics make it very slick to add new content and to edit existing - yet to be used - images and vids. Also Timeline events: I'm in contact with Hilda Murrell's nephew (we were at BRNC Dartmouth together back in the sixties) and  urgently need a [[Hilda Murrell]] timeline but feel greatly inhibited by the agreed need to simplify the current collection of templates and forms necessary to implement one using current methods. I've thought about it a lot and concluded - provisionally anyway - that we should probably proceed by defining two separate event properties - Major and minor. An arbitrary distinction I know, but efficient adding and editing of specific timeline events (ie minor ones) requires something much simpler than the current standard event template and form so that display is concentrated and it is simple to move move between the timeline page and its constituent event pages and form. The conflict is really between ease of constructing new timelines and their constituent events from scratch and querying pre-existing event content for display with the timeline results format. In the latter case it is simple enough to construct new queries for timeline format display that include both event types. Just as the lack of distinction between events and timeline events, I'm going to suggest that mainpage images are just images and mainpage videos are just videos. So I suggest that they should be brought under the same semantic template - i.e. Template:Document - if not straight away then eventually. In the mean time, adding semantic data to them (|authors, |subjects etc.) would be good preparation for this simplification. Robin (talk) 13:34, 9 September 2014 (IST)

I certainly agree the principle but the devil as always is in the detail. The problem - for me anyway when wanting to focus on content - is that Form:Document is already complex. The current collection of templates and forms for the main page videos and pics make it very slick to add new content and to edit existing - yet to be used - images and vids. Also Timeline events: I'm in contact with Hilda Murrell's nephew (we were at BRNC Dartmouth together back in the sixties) and urgently need a Hilda Murrell timeline but feel greatly inhibited by the agreed need to simplify the current collection of templates and forms necessary to implement one using current methods. Observations please --Peter P (talk) 14:35, 9 September 2014 (IST)

The Tony Bliar link inspired me to think about a |link parameter, so that people can click on it and get taken to the Tony Blair page (or the war criminal page). Robin (talk) 13:34, 9 September 2014 (IST)
