EgyptAir Flight 804 (MS804/MSR804) was an international passenger flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Cairo International Airport that went missing over the Mediterranean Sea on 19 May 2016 at 02:30am.[1][2]

The Airbus A320 had 66 people on board: 56 passengers, 7 aircrew and 3 security personnel. It is currently unknown if any of them survived. A multinational search and rescue operation is under way.[3][4][5]

According to Greek military radar data, Flight 804 veered off course shortly after entering the Egyptian Flight Information Region. At an altitude of 37,000ft, the aircraft made a 90-degree left turn, followed by a full circle right turn, and then began to descend. Radar contact was lost at an altitude of about 10,000ft.[6][7]

On 20 May 2016 at 10:09am, the Egyptian Air Force reported having found wreckage from the missing EgyptAir plane. A military spokesman said in a statement that wreckage and personal belongings of passengers were found 290km off the Egyptian coast, north of the Mediterranean city of Alexandria. The spokesman said the Navy was sweeping the area for the aircraft's black box.[8]
