-Pertaining to the campaign, launched by the USA under the Presidency of George W. Bush with the support of the United Kingdom, most [[NATO]] members (at least formally) and other Western-aligned countries. The campaign was a response to the events of 11 September 2001. It had the stated objective of eliminating 'al-Qaeda'  and other so called 'terrorist organisations' in whatever country(s) they may operate.
