| Document:Field Manual 30-31b | Field Manual | 10 March 1970 | Counterinsurgency Operation Gladio U.S. Army intelligence Asset recruitment Strategy of tension | An U.S. document describing counterinsurgency tactics, including a "strategy of tension" using violent attacks blamed on radical left-wing groups in order to convince allied governments of the need for counter-action. It also points out the need for heavy recruiting among the officer corps and security forces in the host country. Purportedly a piece of "Russian propaganda". |
