David Maxim Triesman, Baron Triesman (born 30 October 1943) is a British politician, merchant banker and former trade union leader. David Triesman was General Secretary of the Labour Party from July 2001 to December 2003.
Lord Triesman is a Crossbench member of the House of Lords. Until resigning the whip in July 2019, Triesman sat as a Labour Party peer, having previously been a Minister in the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Lord Triesman was Chairman of the Football Association from 2008 to 2010, when he resigned over bribery claims.
