Death
Frei Montalva died in 1982[1] apparently following routine surgery.
Questions continue to surround the events that led to his death. There have been accusations that Frei was murdered with small doses of toxic substances. Six suspected assassins were found guilty of murdering Frei in January 2019 and were handed sentences ranging from 3 to 10 years in prison.[2]
