Finnish economist.

Pentti Lauri Ilmari Vartia is a Finnish economist. He attended the 1999 Bilderberg meeting.

He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1974 on the econometric model of the Finnish economy. Vartia worked as the Director of the Business Research Institute from 1983 to 2005 and as the Managing Director of the Business Delegation (EVA) from 2000 to 2005. He is a docent in economics at the University of Helsinki. [1]

President Tarja Halonen awarded Pentti Vartia the title of Professor in 2002.[2]
