Peter Macadam was born on September 9, 1921 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was son of Francis Macadam and Marjorie Mary Browne. He was educated in Buenos Aires and Stonyhurst College in Lancashire, England.

Career

He started working for British American Tobacco in Argentina in 1946. He was Chairman and General Manager for South America 1955-1958, before moving to a marketing post in Chile 1958-1959.

He became personal assistant to the British American Tobacco Director in London 1959-1960, and then worked for the company in Hong Kong 1961-1962.
