Pope Francis

Pope Francis (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio) is the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State. Francis is the first Jesuit pope,[1] the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere, and the first pope from outside Europe since the Syrian Gregory III, who reigned in the 8th century.

Controversies

Bergoglio and Gustavo Vera

On 24 Feb 2016, Miriam Wuolou, his receptionist, aged 34, seven-months pregnant, was found dead.[2][3][4]

His associate and close friend Gustavo Vera,[5] who has been commenting on the political influence of the pope in Argentina,[6] has been accused by Natacha Jaitt to be involved in human trafficking.

Pope Francis "has declared zero tolerance over [sex] abuse scandals that have beset the Church for decades, but has appeared to struggle to overcome resistance within the Vatican hierarchy".[7]

Covid-19 vaccines

Under Francis, the Vatican has chosen not to support exemptions to COVID-19 jabs on religious grounds, despite the product containing "abortion-derived cell line in development and production of the vaccine as well as the testing"[8]. Pope Francis himself has said it would be “suicide” not to get the shot, and he has been fully injected with Pfizer.

In August 2021, he stated: “Being vaccinated with vaccines authorized by the competent authorities is an act of love. And contributing to ensure the majority of people are vaccinated is an act of love.”[9]

Great Reset

Full article: The Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican

Pope Francis started a partnership between some of the world's largest investment and business leaders and the Vatican, calling themselves "the Guardians".

In July 2022, Francis wrote that there is an "urgent need to reduce the consumption not only of fossil fuels but also of so many superfluous things. In certain areas of the world, too, it would be appropriate to consume less meat: this too can help save the environment.[10]

A Document by Jorge Mario Bergoglio

TitleDocument typePublication dateSubject(s)Description
Document:December 2016 Papal Letterletter6 December 2016Knights of MaltaA leaked "strictly confidential" set of two letters: one from Pope Francis (in Italian & English) to Knights of Malta Cardinal Patron Raymond Burke, who has added his own covering letter addressed to Grand Master Festing. Pope Francis appears to demand that Freemasonry ("relativist" groups contrary to the Catholic faith) be rooted out of the Knights, and that those complicit (e.g., von Boeselager) in practices contrary to Church teaching be dealt with.
