The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) was deployed in June 1974 in the Golan Heights district of Syria to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Syria following the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Without an Israel-Syria peace agreement in the intervening four decades, UNDOF remains in the Golan Heights.[1]
