Guerin De Beaumont was a French politician. A Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of the European Defence Community in particular, he attended the 1954 Bilderberg meeting. He was appointed Minister of Justice and was on the invite to the 1956 Bilderberg, but died in October 1955.

Background

He was the son of the historian Gaston du Boscq de Beaumont.[1]

Career

He became a lawyer at the Paris bar, and was an unsuccessful candidate in the 1932 elections. He participated in both world wars.[1]

Refusing defeat, he went to London in 1941. De Gaulle sent him to the United States.

After the war, he worked in the offices of Léon Blum and André Marie and held important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 1951, he was elected independent deputy of La Manche. He successively held the positions of Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in the Pierre Mendès France government from June 19 to September 3, 1954 (in charge of the European Defence Community in particular), Minister of Justice from September 3, 1954 to January 20, 1955 and Minister of State from January 20 to February 23, 1955. His health deteriorated, and he dies while a parliamentarian.[1]

He was a municipal councilor of Airel, where he was the owner of the manor of Mesnil Vitey.
