A protest or demonstration is a public expression of objection, disapproval or dissent towards an idea or action, typically a political one.

Fox News reported in 2009 that the US Department of Defense was referring to protest activity as "low level terrorism".[1] At the beginning of 2016, high schools across the USA were asked to report students who criticize government policies and “western corruption” as potential future terrorists.[2][3]
