Deputy secretary general in Europe of the Bilderberg. All Bilderberg meetings from 1960 - 1968.

Arnold Theodoor Lamping was a Dutch diplomat and deputy honorary secretary general in Europe of the Bilderberg in 1961.[1]

Background

Arnold Theodoor Lamping was born on June 17, 1893. After completing school education, entered the diplomatic career.[2]

Career

Having received training as a consular representative, Lamping first went abroad in 1922 as Consul General in Smyrna (Turkey). Just two years later he was recalled to the Netherlands and assigned to the Foreign Office. In 1927, his professional career took him abroad again, this time as an extraordinary plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Santiago de Chile. After five years of working in South America, Lamping returned to his homeland and devoted himself in the years from 1932 to 1945 to the preparation of intergovernmental trade agreements, most recently as deputy head of the competent authority for this.[2]

After the end of the 2nd World War, Lamping was again used as a diplomatic representative of the Netherlands abroad. So, in 1945 he went to London as minister plenipotentiary, in 1946 he went to Bucharest as an envoy, and in 1947 he became the first Dutch ambassador to the Republic of India in Delhi. He was the Dutch High Commissioner to Indonesia from 1950 to 1952 and the Dutch Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from 1952 to 1959.[2]
