Tanzania is a nation state in East Africa. The president, John Magufuli, was praised for his moves against corruption, but that changed after he criticised the Official Narrative about COVID-19 and declared the pandemic over in the country. He suddenly died in 2021.
Tanzania suspended reporting of COVID statistics on 8 May 2020. The president, John Magufuli, was a critic of the Official Narrative about COVID-19. Like his "close friend" Pierre Nkurunziza, he refused to institute a COVID lockdown.
"In early February 2021, Tanzanian Health Minister Dorothy Gwajima announced that the Tanzanian government would not partake in COVID-19 vaccination campaigns — “we are not yet satisfied that those vaccines have been clinically proven safe.”"
John Magufuli died suddenly in March 2021, reportedly of "heart failure".
