Ukrainian government agreement with Wikimedia

In April 2020, The Ukrainian government announced the launch of a campaign to "correct" articles which the authorities consider biased against the country in Wikipedia. The Ministry's partner in this endeavor was the public organization Wikimedia Ukraine, which is the largest association of Wikipedia administrators in the country.[2]

The aim of the campaign was to "counteract disinformation" about Ukraine and disseminate "proper" information about the country in different languages. At the same time, the representative of the government said that the participants of the campaign would make entries in Wikipedia dedicated to the Russian aggression against Ukraine and relevant events. [2]

Ukrainian diplomats would correct Wikipedia in the languages of their host countries, the Foreign Ministry said.[2]
