Brent Scowcroft is a US Deep state operative. He was National Security Advisor twice, separated by a gap of over 10 years: first to US Presidents Gerald Ford and then to George H. W. Bush. He is a close friend of the Bush family.

He said in August 2002 "that US action against Iraq, without resolving tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, 'could turn the whole region into a cauldron and thus destroy the war on terrorism'."
