Politically very controlled country, with a duopoly between socialist parties. Refused a War on Drugs, with successful results.

Portugal is a nation state in South West Europe, bordering on Spain.

Assassination

Considerable evidence suggests that the CIA assassinated the Portuguese Defense minister in the 1980 Camarate air crash, because he was planning to expose the October surprise.

Drug Policy

In the face of high rates of opioid in usage 2001, Portugal decriminalised all drugs.[1] Subsequently "drug-related death, incarceration and infection rates plummeted".[2] It also started the world's first national needle-exchange programme.
